FTX Spreading Out

A quick heads up for those that haven't visited FTX (
http://www.fullterrain.com) for a while - there's a couple of additional areas for NA Blue. One goes North of the original area and the other goes largely East. The one going East looks the most interesting as that incorporates quite a variety of scenery. I've had the demo area for a while, which worked well on my PC and I decided to buy the original NA Blue package as current exchange rates put each package at about £27.
Looking forward to playing when I get some "quality" time with the box (this box not the other one

).
Regards,
Chris

Orbx (also known as FTX) are also doing NZ South Island - looks very good but a bit sparse as far as landing grounds go.
Some of their videos are a wonder to behold - check out the walk/drive/fly of the tour around Concrete (via their forum) but I wouldn't get in a car with that guy! Very impressive "micro" sceneries but I suspect you would have to be very very interested in those particular locations to buy into it. Still if you fancy a bit of a stroll after arrivals it's the ideal place to be.
Regards,
Chris

Have a look at this

Photo real airport with people moving about (called Peopleflow). It is without doubt incredible stuff but it begs the question a little on what it is that FSX is being turned into in this instance. I have to say though that FTX is a game changer for me scenery wise, relatively expensive but it is the only scenery (including VFR) which actually makes the world look real. The PNW scenery covers a pretty large area albeit mostly hills and trees but the cityscapes are incredible - take a look at the freeware Portland and don't have a big hit on performance. I like GEX but FTX is the way to go.

Chris

I see what you mean Darren. One concern is, and it is the usual one, is Orbx scenery compatible with MS Flight? Or for that matter is it needed with MS Flight? The promo videos for MS Flight look very promising so far but I remember something similar with FSX and the reality turned out to be rather different. I've tried to register with FTX to see if the question has been asked (and answered) but for some reason I'm not getting the confirmation email.
I must admit that if I didn't have FSX the Orbx scenery would probably be one of the biggest reasons for getting it.

Chris
