Unspecified aircraft

I have a number of thumbnails in my aircraft selection menu in FSX which, whilst I recognise them from my add-on aircraft, are not flyable models.
I strongly suspect that they are installed as AI models for various sceneries and mission packs.
What are they doing in my aircraft selection menu, and does anyone know how I can get rid of them, without uninstalling my scenery or mission packs?
Appreciate any ideas
JD

You need to get a copy of AirED for editing AIR files -
http://hsors.pagesperso-orange.fr/fsairfile.html
Then open the AIR file and change line "105 - *Aircraft type =0" to 2 (Aircraft type =2). 2 is the code for AI aircraft not appearing in the list.

I don't have FSX so this is a shot in the dark (cue pink panther music). In FS9 to prevent AI aircraft showing up on the selection menu you could edit the .air file for the aircraft involved with AirEd (or similar) to change the behaviour. Record 105 of the file is the key. Normal aircraft have an entry of 0, helicopters = 1 and Non-flyables = 2. The AirEd info state this is for 'CFS AI Only' but it works in FS9 as well. I imagine that record still exists in FSX so you might want to give it a try - make a backup of the .air file first.

Edit:
Ah, I see Darren beat me to the punch, but looks like my shot (in the dark) hit its mark!

Easy way to prevent AI aircraft appearing in the selection menu is to remove (or rename) the panel folder from the offending aircraft.

Okay, thanks all three.
Shouldn't be too hard.
