Classic British Flight Sim

The Nimrod pack is nearly ready at last, final reports from testers and a last effort from a friend should see it out before too much longer.
It will as promised be freeware but I would ask anyone who feels inclined to view it as donationware. I have come across a really valiant charity in my local area who purchase all manner of goodies, parcel them up and send them to the guys and girls serving in Afghanistan. Real morale boosters they are and it all comes either from their own pockets or collections. I'm trying to talk the guys into setting up a Paypal account for accepting on-line donations that people may feel like giving and if the Nimrod can help one last time then so much the better.

Autopilot controlled ILS let down into Keflavik



Finally got into UK with REX and realtime weather running, I've had smoother funfair rides ..... St Mawgan was cloud right down to the threshold. Thank God the ILS works!

Couldn't by-pass Cork without checking the magnificent Cork Ultimate scenery

Great stuff Brian. She is a stunning model and a joy to fly. I'm still waiting my router for the new house, haven't unpacked the PC yet either, so I haven't tried the last update, but I'm sure it will be excellent. Great idea on the donations too.

Looking at Ark's approach lights, it would seem I'm a bit below the flightpath!


One of the many models (there are 6 in all) wearing one of the 12 paints you can expect with Brians labour of love which cover every period of the Nimrods distinguished career. No AEW3 but already I can hear sighs of relief about that!


Oh.. and my screenshots do not come close to doing the model justice. If you think these look good, you'll be pleased to know that it's a great deal better 'in sim'

Just a thought, as I compile my (rather short) final test report for Brian.

One of the older White/Grey schemes is listed as Lossie in 1981 (the other is fine at 1971). I thought that the Hemp scheme was fully in place by late 1979 (having experimented with other colours, including pink, if I remember correctly). can anybody with more Nimrod knowlege confirm this? I spent a couple of weeks as a supernumary observer (tea/coffee maker) at St Mawgan in about 79 and do not remember the old scheme still being around then, but I have been wrong before .

You may well be right Trev, I'll dig the books out and I'm up at Kinloss again the wekend after next so I'll ask the 'historian'

I was stationed at Lossie in '83 til 86 and IIRC i am fairly positive i saw some of the old colours on the mighty Nimrod whilst driving between the 2 stations...?

I'll look into it also...
