A weird issue...?

Anyone know how or where in the files you would find U/C reference..?
Just noticed that some A/C on the ground the U/C nose wheel moves noticebly on the ground....left and right linked to the rudder but when airborne the rudder moves but the nose gear doesn't...???
How does this work....any ideas folks....?

Hello Matey
I don't know the exact answer to this but it depends on how they're linked during the build process. Any aircraft that does this won't (or shouldn't) be able to be changed unless you have the source files. You don't really want the nosegear moving in the air do you as it wouldn't on the real aircraft. Some modellers build them so that the rudder doesn't move on the ground but as soon as weight is off the main gear, the rudder animates. Horses for courses I guess

Hi Tony
Some aircraft are modelled with nose wheel steering which behaves as you describe on the ground only.
Some modellers to make things a little easier model the steering as a second rudder in which case it will then operate in the air.

So its modelled into the model...and cannot be adjusted afterwards Garry..? Interesting how large a movement you get on say DM's Trident but in the air...nothing...love to know how it works....??????

If it modelled as a steerable nosewheel than it will only work on the ground.....that's a built in fuction in FS
The Trident though was different and DM had use some clever tricks as the steering will only work if it's in the centre......the Trident is offset
It's nothing the user can change.

This is why a twin nose wheel aircraft will only have a single centre contact point instead of two points slightly left and right of centre..if it's modelled as a sterable wheel
These clever dicks that make uploads adding the 'missing' contact points don't realise that the points are often left out to make things work properly.
