Well.... if what has been written is to be believed, it looks quite promising in that it does sound like a flight simulator rather than a "flying game" Interesting bits in the FAQ's section. Lets see what happens.

There is even another 'sim' in the offing from lockheed Martin, designed to be part of a commercial training package, based on the current FSX computer model!

Prepare3D is not really that impressive...at least from the promotional video. Is it just Lockheed Martin taking on the commercial aspect of FSX or at least a license to use the FSX code?

Prepare3D is what was ESP. Lockheed bought the code off of Microsoft and is using it to develop a new commercial simulator visual environment. It's primary purpose (per their own data) is to be a visual environment, not a flight dynamics one. They are looking more to use this for things like ATC simulators and visuals for more advanced (i.e. better looking) Level C and D professional simulators.
