Fuel Flows/Fuel used with Microsoft A-321

Gentlemen

I have been doing some long flights in the Microsoft FSX Airbus A321 and have noticed an anomaly with the fuel flow and fuel used.

In the cruise at FL390 M0.8, the Fuel flow reads a total of 1150 lb/hr. However, the fuel used goes down at about 9000 lb/hr.

The Flight Plan allows for this high figure and suggests (for example) a fuel burn of 17000 lb for Prestwick- Keflavik (1hr 36min).

The real aircraft has a fuel burn of about 4800 lb/hr.

Does anyone have any info on this or know how I can speak to Microsoft?

John

Not very classic British :S

I moved this to payware..although it's not a HU

As to you question.....I doubt if you could speak to anyone at microsoft and if you did they would not be interested

Download another model of the same type.....forget the default aircraft they are no more than a token gesture to get the game going. ;)

You could try altering the fuel flow scalar value in the aircraft.cfg:-

fuel_flow_scalar = 1.0

Try about 0.5 and see if that works better, not sure what effect this will have on the gauge though.

Ultimately, it should show only a lower burn for the same speed/load/alt. An immediate check will be to see what the burn is on the deck at ground idle before and after. Of course, it could just be that the FSX data in flightplanner might be a load of old do-do too ;)

Oh come now Dave... How could that possibly be? Didn't you read the blurb on the box? "As real as it gets"...

Hi,

Alexander Metzger of Digital Aviation has released modified flightdynamics for the A321 on his website: metzgergva.de
Weight, loads, performance and inertia according Airbus A321information.
So maybe he has corrected the anomaly with the fuel burn :)

Greetings
