Installing add-on Scenery in FSX

Have I entered a parallel world where everything is not quite the same, or have I really forgotten how to add scenery ?

I am trying to install Dave Garwood's Duxford, and for the life of me, I cannot get to the point where it actually gets added.

So before I go any further, have I got it in the right folder ? ( I've renamed the default texture and scenery folders as shown, for clarity )

Hi Paul..

By and large, scenery is handled in exactly the same way as it was in FS9 but with the advantage that you can add and delete it 'on the fly' as you could with 2002 and before. Unless there is something specific in the install instructions, continue to do as you did in FS9 ;) One problem not directly connected could be the OS you're using.. especially where auto-installers are used. Thankfully, I'm still on WinXP so I can't offer any advice for the newer OS's :)

The file structure in your shot looks ok. Don't forget to go and manually activate the scenery in the sim (add new scenery/addon scenery/click on the folder to be activated) ;)

Okay, Dave, thats the first part. But I can't activate Duxford in the the scenery library in FSX

In the picture above, when I select the folder EGSU Duxford and click OK...I get the picture below

I can never get past this, and am never returned to the scenery library. There is a thread on the OrbX forums to the effect that in Windows 7, if you click on the white area where the folders are in the first picture, you are dumped back to the scenery library screen where everything is at it should be...but that doesn't work for me.

Looks right *-)

For W7, from that last screen, you should click "OK", then click in the white area and that should do it.

Failing that, you could try adding the scenery to the scenery.cfg manually.

Click on the OK THEN the white area...thats what wasn't clear in the Orbx thread ! Sorted! Thank you very much indeed.
