As the 1-11 is a Brit, is there anyway to get an alitimeter reading Millibars instead of Inches for the pressure?

Hi Ant1981
Well matey.. it really depends on which ones you fly. Though the One-Eleven was a British aircraft, it flew all over the world with umpteen different airlines.. many of which would have used IN HG rather than MB. If you want your non-British One-Elevens to use a MB calibrated altimeter and you know how to swap gauges, use the altimeter off the BA aircraft as this one is calibrated in MB

Hi Dave,
Thanks for that, I'll pop into the avionics bay with a pack of beers and see if the lads there will do that for me. I'm sure it's a Brit variant I'm flying, 1-11 475 and I use the Empire Test Pilot School which flies from Boscombe, also the Radar trials one too.

Hi Ant..
Yup.. but the flight deck on that aircraft (as with all others NOT ex-BEA) were Collins fit avionics. This doesn't mean to say that BAC didn't fit altimeters calibrated in MB to UK based aircraft.. just that when the model began, we only had the one panel and this was based around ASYD at Brooklands and a handful of other shots. The BEA panel came later

It's a valid point but when you have one panel for BEA and one panel for the rest.. it's not really possible to make the 'rest' be correctly represented across the board. You'd need an additional panel folder for what could be unknown 'addon' paints and that was a job too far
Don't forget to change the gauge in the VC too if you use the VC. I don't think DM made those 3D so you should be able to change it there too

I thought the standard One-Eleven fit was aimed at the US market to save the expensive redesign they had to do with the Viscount as a lot of countries accept US certification or have their own based on it, or accepting it.
Made economic sense
So I would think most UK airlines used the standard intrumentation
BEA was always something else

Yes.. wasn't it just
I've just had a look at my shots from SYD and her ALT is calibrated in MB which makes sense to me (though.. it's always good to not take what you see in museums as defacto)
EDIT..
An obvious answer to this problem I've just thought of.. FS ATC reports altimeter settings in IN HG (at least it does on my pc.. I never use it but just tried it to confirm) so.. it also makes sense to have the models altimeter calibrated so

What you do in the BEA aircraft is another matter

I have my FS report pressure in MB. There's some settings for metric etc.

That's probably it Ant. After years of farting around, I find myself more comfortable with kg's than with gallons/pounds so I'm setup as metric but with alt's in feet (I don't do metres)

I do feet and Lbs. Luckily I dont need FS to give me runway lengths, so metres never fusses me.
