FSX set up

Is there a setting where one can disable the automatic selection of autopilot in FSX? There does not appear to be a line in the FSX.cfg file.
I have downloaded a few FSX native a/c but have found them (initially) to be uncrontrollable because the autopilot seems to be automatically engaged - even though the aircraft does'nt have an autopilot!!! I have therefore to take off (usually at some ridiculous speed), find I'm going straight ahead & then have to select Ctrl+Z until I gain control. (BTW that last bit Ctrl+Z is thanks to Rick Piper...).

The autopilot shouldn't be automatically engaged.
Sounds like you may have replaced your default flight with a saved one that had the autopilot engaged whilst saving.

Set up a Flight with the AP turned off. Load this flight first, then load your desired aircraft.

BTW, you can turn off the AP with the Z key.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the saved flight tip - could be that seeing as the Jindivik is the current one!
