Classic British Flight Sim

I've been visiting this site for quite some time, but have yet to post anything until now. I have been working on a repaint of Edgar Guinart's IL-18D in 60's LOT Polish airlines colors. This is just a preview, as I am still playing around with a few "weathered" layers and other details. It seems LOT, unlike Aeroflot, actually kept their aircraft rather clean.

I remember the Tarom IL18s coming into Luton in the 60s and 70s they looked like they hadnt been washed in years.

I will definitely include a "neglected" version as soon as I am done. I am actually in the process of creating a layered .PSD template for this model. The original blank template is great, but so much more can be done.

It seems there was a lack of uniformity regarding classic LOT paint schemes, and it's giving me hell.

Nice paintwork. I recall seeing LOT 18's coming into Ringway in the 1980's. The livery was this one.

I saw one once at LHR in 1974.......does only seeing one mean I can't say I've really seen a LOT

Nice job, I liked the IL18 for its sheer ugliness, it reminded me of my first girlfriend, smoked heavily, had a large nose, very loud, but always turned heads for a reason I cant explain

I have some updates.

Dirty and bare textures. I've settled on this amount of neglect moving forward.



LOT 1960's colors, weathering included.
