Classic British Flight Sim

In my eyes the BA Landor livery is still the most elegant airline design of all time.
Et even adds a touch of distinguished classiness to an aircraft as chubby and cute as the 748.

Yup.. I'm a fan of BA Landor too. Anything that makes a 747 look good aint half bad

Ah Landor...the most depressing of all their liveries.......truly ghastly on cloudy days and plain awful in the sun with that miserable grey top and midnight blue

Landor is loved by a lot of people who either saw it later or not at all

This is because the grey tended to lighten over time..originally the door outlines were white..that's how dull it was........or see it in pics

I never managed to photograph one that didn't come out almost white...in which form it looked OK....but the reality was something different.

Many FS paints and made up model kits have it white and the blue the same as Red Tail

RT used BOAC blue where as Landor used midnight which served to drearyfy the livery further...it was very cold

Some did like it at the time but generally it was not well liked amongst those I knew

The technical term I belive is Yuk

For many years I was an avid reader of "Motor Sport".
I well remember an article by Mr Boddy about Brooklands in the old days, where he described the response of a well-known competitor (might even have been Whitney Straight) to a question about his racing cars being unpainted.
"What's the point of drilling holes in everything possible to save weight, if you are then going to whack on 20lbs of paint?"
Maybe not verbatim, but certainly words to that effect.
For some reason, the Landor livery, stylish though it is, always reminds me of that. I am quite sure that paint scheme cost about three pax, wrt MTOW.

But it wouldn't weigh anymore than red tail. ....obviously some weigh more than others but this would be in the normal range.

Nothing ever felt as majestic to me as a child than British Airways' sleek and elegant Landor lines.
Maybe Royal Jordanian's TriStar, but they were still way off...

The only thing that was - erm, let's say: arguable - were the girl's uniforms...
