Hi all,
probably another stupid question, but I have downloaded the Sea Venom and when I open it the file is not recognised by windows as it says it is a RAR file.

Any ideas?

A Rar file is a compressed file similar to but more extensive than zip.

You need Winrar or similar to open it :)

Wouldn't it be great if things where packaged in a format that everyone can use... i.e. zip :wall:

One of my pet hates. Zips (or Rars) inside zips

Pity, RAR is a more efficient compressor than Zip from what I've found.

To the Admin there.. no, to Leif here!

I doubt many realise you actually have a forum over there Leif other than VHA. It may have escaped your notice but due to the fact CBF is so similar to CBFS.. a lot of our custom here believe the 2 sites to be joined at the hip.. one and the same, despite the fact that both sites have a completely different layout. Under the circumstances, it is understandable that users get confused. Chicken and Egg?? *-)

To be brutally honest.. I find your post inflammatory and unnecessary.

Hi Skip, yep it is, but zip can be read by default for both Mac abd Windows platform. Just easier for most folk to use something if they don't need do download another program to open it ;)
