Hello everyone,

It's released! :)

I think... :) I might give it a try tonight...
Looks pretty cool - let's hope it's frame rate friendly...

Best wishes,

Nick

Thanks for the HU, Nick! How do you like it (assuming you wound up buying it)? I've been eyeballing this model for a while, and was waiting specifically for the FS9 version. I'm a sucker for steam gauges and systems simulations....

It looks very good, the Video is crap though I guess the reason the thrust reversers go from closed to deployed in a nano second is due to the video??

Hi Mark, hi Tony,

I haven't found the time yet!
I'll be back in this thread with some reports as soon as I own it!

Cheers,

Nick

Hi there,

I downloaded saturday (price was € 35,-) and spent a few hours doing touch-and-gos at my favourite training base Luqa, as well as one flight from Luqa to Rome. I used the 30 series and tried both pax version in KLM livery and freighter version in DHL colours (makes no difference in terms of operation). For your interest please find some of my first impressions below:

:) ...

+ great outside looks, very accurately modelled (pictures don't promise too much)
+ fine liveries, much detail to discover
+ nice panel, although you have to switch from pic to f/o view in order to access everything
+ great VC to perform a complete flight, nearly everything is clickable, smooth gauges
+ good sub-panels, logically sorted
+ stunning cockpit night lighting (especially in the aqua blue VC version)
+ very special, however not very reliable Sperry autopilot
+ cool sounds, especially avionics, engines and warnings
+ smooth, easy and controllable handling (turns, trim etc. not nervous)
+ very friendly to frame rates, no studdering at all! Big plus for me!
+ nice gadgets such as ground handling cars, opening windows or moving wipers
+ Ah yes and that thing is a rocket - when you're used to the 1-11...

:( ...

- VC overall looks aren't as perfect as e.g. in DM's 1-11: some areas blurry, gauges look a little "cobbled" onto the panel
- Callouts are a wild mixture of american (gear) and spanish (flaps) accents, while the height callouts are Honeywell
- Tony, sadly you're right: reversers deploy within a nano-second! Even acoustically - bang it's there, bang it's gone!
- Anti-Collision light turns the tarmac into a turning red 70s disco, c'mon guys, don't exaggerate...

:| ...

- am I too stupid or why can't I access any checklists, speed references, trim settings etc. when seated in the cockpit? Can't be true...
- I think I have to buy active camera or somehting to discover the cabin...
- And again - how do I access the wing views from a laptop?
- no TCAS, but that's a very personal old wish of mine using old metal in today's virtual environment

Overall I must say that the first few hours with the model were great fun and I would tend to recommend it! I hope that this basic sum-up gives you sort of a first impression however I will do my best to answer all further questions - just go ahead!

Cheers, :hello:

Nick

Thanks for your interesting feedback comments Nick.

Looks a brilliant model that would certainly have me reaching for the plastic if it was'nt for the silly issue with the reversers. :wall:

Why can't they sort this out before release? It certainly spoils the whole package.

Its not as if its a minor issue either.

Looks greats apart from that.

Makes me want to wait for version 1.1 though :)

Thanks for the nice review, I am sure that they will correct these issues, but its odd they did not see them before release?

Well, there is a service pack for the FSX version already - so there'll probably be one for the FS9 version soon.

Believe me - the Reverser issue is optically not as problematic as acoustically! However I would definitely call it a minor issue.
Overall it's a fine model!

I will continue to report as soon I've gathered some experience... B)smk

Cheers to you all,

Nick

Hi all, my first post here!

I have just got this plane and it is amazing! After reading through the manual even me, a 13 year old, can operate this aircraft! If anyof you are having problems with the flaps/spoliers, you need to find the three switches at the bottom left of the co-pilots panel and turn them on and it should work! I have also written a revie on my blog, here: http://samuelk001.blogspot.com/ You can find it by scrolling down a bit, until you get to it.

Thanks
Sam
