Compass on new Auster

I'm probably being an idiot, but the compass on top of the panel does not work on the Auster, it is set at 150 and doesn't revolve. It is difficult looking down at the main compass regularly. Could this be something to do with me running FSX with only SP1 and not SP2?

You didn't read the manual did you?
The "compass" is actually the fuel gauge. The compass is mounted on the floor ;-)
