Thanks in advance

Hi Ewan..
Yep, there are a number of models out there. Have a look at
www.flightsim.com and throw L-188 into the search engine. You'll find a host of files there including one of the Atlantic paints.. atlal188.zip.

To add to Dave B.'s comments, there is also a panel that I created for the L-188
based on a real cockpit photograph. I'm not sure which sites might have it now.
I know I originally uploaded to Avsim but it may have gotten posted elsewhere
as well.
I may have a zip'd copy of my original upload somewhere here on one of my
back-up desktops if you want thatpanel and can't find it elsewhere.

Hi Evan,
That package will most likely have a different panel. My panel files can be found over
at the Simviation library.
Here are the links to the base panel file and and update to that base panel.
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/syb2. ... _Panel.zip

I think you will find that my panel is completely different than any that I've encountered
that came with the various L-188 aircraft packages.

I was looking for an L-188 Electra for FS2004 when I came across this thread. I checked the usual sites and it seems that there are around 3 different L-188 around by different authors: J.R. Lucariny who did the atla188.zip as referenced above, Mike Stone (has he done just about every aircraft there is?) and Chris Buff.
Anyone care to comment on which is the better of the 3?
I am also taking a look at Paul's panel for the L-188.
Thanks
CH

Personally I prefer Lucrainy's its the most accurate however it can be a but frame heavy.
Mike's is easy on the frames but not the most accurate and requires finding a good cockpit and sound to go with it.

I'll go with Leifs suggestion
They all have errors but personally I can live with that one the easiest

Thanks for your comments.
I tried the Lucariny L-188 yesterday and it came with Paul's panel already bundled. It seems to be what I was looking for, so I think I'll stick with that.

I had a look at the aircraft.cfg file for the Lucariny L-188 and I see that it is configured with 4 jet engines. Now that can't be right, surely? Maybe that's one of the errors Gary mentioned.
Anyway, I have re-engined it with Allison T56-A-14s from a P3 Orion that is gathering dust at the back of the hangar. Took it out for a test circuit of EGPH last night and the extra poke of the mil spec engines gets the old girl going quite a bit.
Now I have to do something about the sound. Currently sounds like a wet f@rt in a tunnel.
Back to aircraft.cfg...
