Guernsey.. no problemo!

With all this talk of a heavy A380 landing at Oshkosh, I thought I'd sneak this little tinker in at GUE. It will get in and out though parking is a bit tight and GUE don't have a set of airstairs long enough to get the passengers on and off

That hapened at Jersey with a TriStar
They were going to use one when it was realised the airstairs fully cranked up were for Vanguards and not high enough.
That was scrubbed...for now.. but a few weeks later more fog, more backlog and that time a TriStar
was used and on board they carried a specially made extention which dropped neatly onto the fulled extended stairs.
I bet those Daks tails lifted when you started up

Very nice, Dave!
Who's model af the A380 is that? I've wanted one for FS9, ever since flying on one of Singapore Airlines.
Incedently, if anyone is interested theres an Emirates A380 scheduled into Birmingham (EGBB) on Wednesday 9th Sept, to celebrate the opening of the new Emirates lounge, in the new pier.
Regards
Kevin

Yes mate.. the fastest recorded flight from GUE to ALD by a DC3.. syncro-pair

Fortunately, there weren't there when I came in and I can't go until they leave.. or move the traffic slider down ;-)
Interesting dit about the use of TriStars. Surprising what can be done when necessary
Popped in there just in time Kevin

I didn't go digging hard as it happens.. just chose one (of the many) that was a reasonable download size and had paints for it. This one is off Allnodes and is by Robert Versluys.. filename is siap380.zip. I can't be too critical as it was only downloaded for a bit of fun. The paint looks ok in most areas.. the model could be better but is far from bad. The major downside is that it doesn't come with it's own panel but there are a number of these available from around 4mb to over 40mb :o
We keep an eye out for the 380 at Brooklands on Wednesdays with SAL and Emirates being the two most frequent

Only seen Quantas once since it started ops. SAL leave early lunchtime and we can generally set our watches by Emirates which passes overhead just after 1500hrs ;-)

Cheers, Dave.
I'll take a look.
Don't expect to see the Emirates A380 over Brooklands on Wed 9th Sept. The aircraft is doing the service into Brum. The usual Brum B777-300 is swaping, to do the service into EGLL.
The SAL A380 that I flew on departed EGLL at around 22.30. Is the service now twice daily with an A380 ?

Kevin

Hi Kevin
Not sure about that mate. I hear that one of the airlines has cut the number of flights due to lack of bums on seats but whether that's SAL, Emirates or Quantas I can't remember. I've a feeling it might be the big 'Q'. Will check it ;-)

Getting the money off all the passengers was a trifle difficult.................but easy once they got them all out of the toilets.
