Thanks, John. Just had a look at the Aircraft website and it does look good. It's actually Aircraft Illustrated which has been renamed and re-focused as 100% classic. There's a lot of stuff on the website, too.

The great thing about Aircraft Illustrated in the early days was it's well balance content. Later it became too much on the Airshows with one issue looking like another

It still seems too heavy on the airshow stuff.......change the record and lets have more variety back.

I had AI from issue one until the early 1990's..........I see nothing there to make me want to go back to it

I also have an almost complete collection of Aircraft Illustrated from when it started (early 1970s or so - they are stored somewhere in the attic), but I gave about 8 years ago or so for exact the same reason.

My collection of Air Pictorial goes back even further well into the 1950 (bought 2nd hand), but I gave up on it at some point after it became Aviation News.

Nowadays it is Airliner World and Airports instead as I am not really into mil stuff. I also keep Air International, but I feel they neglect civil stuff more and more and so it may face the chop at some point as well.

ooohhhhhhhhh! I see.

My only worry now I have is the overlap in stories. Currently I get Aeroplane Monthly, Flypast and AIrcraft Illustrated. Can the market stand 3 classic magazines? Are there that many stories out there?

Only time will tell
