Another sad event in light aviation. This time a Provost

Heard about it yesterday but no mention that it was a Jet Provost. Very very sad.

No Nigel.. I can't see anything there to suggest it was a Jet Provost either. A two-seater light aircraft! :dunno: 'I could clearly see one of it's engines on fire' :dunno:

Regardless, a sad state of affairs whatever it was :-(

Just found this in our local paper Dave. At the bottom it says it was a P51 Provost on its way from Waddington to Linton-on-Ouse in North Yorkshire.

Sad news, both about the pilot and the aircraft. :-(

I don't suppose it would have been this one, or are there more Provosts airworthy in Britain? I do seem to remember a camo one being about.

It was reported yesterday as a Provost and as far as I know it has not been reported anywhere as a Jet Provost

The identity has been witheld although it is well known since last evening until all next of kin have been informed.

I had a feeling it was going to be a Percy and not the Jet. There can't be many of these around :-( Martin (T6Flyer) knows (I'm sure) a pilot who flies one. Hope they're not one and the same.
