f27: Changing Fokker to Fairchild

Hello All,

I've just installed the VA F27 package and it is great. I've been flying Frasier's panel (v4) with the Mike Stone F27-200 for some time and this newest one is a marked improvement. I am, however, on the "colonial" side of the pond and thus flying the Fairchild versions to keep the FAA happy. I generally fly the schedules of Pacific Airlines, West Coast Airlines And Bonanza Airlines (all later merged into Hughes AirWest) hopping around California, the Northwest and the desert southwest, lots of short legs into many smaller airports with strange approaches, bad weather or desert heat (45 C in some areas)

My question is about using the F-227 panel in the -100 and -200 aircraft. The -200 (F-27A with RDa 7 ) is pretty simple - just use the F-227 panel and delete the APU. But I'm not sure about what adjustments (if any) I should make for for -100 (F-27 with the RDa 6 ), lower RPM and temp limits, etc... any suggestions? I don't want to muck up the air file with ill informed changes. Any help is appreciated.

There's no quick fix for that I'm afraid as all the FH-227 gauges are calibrated for Dart 7 engines. :-(

I suppose you could substitute the Fokker F.27 mark 100 gauges calibrated fror the Dart 6 on the FH-227 bitmap, which obviously wouldn't be entirely accurate.
You'd have to paint out the cruise unlocked lamps. Now that I think about it that wouldn'r work either as the HP cocks have different positions too :doho:

cheers

Fraser

Thanks Fraser,

I had muddled through the files and that was pretty much the answer I came up with as well . I was thinking there must be something I missed. West Coast Airlines flew the F-27(MK 100) mainly but my fleet list shows two F-27As (MK 200, Fairchild hull #28 and #32) so I guess my crew and I will always be lucky and be assigned the more powerful aircraft.

Thanks again for a great package and all the improvements you have added.
