UK2000 Pt2 for FSX coming soon!

UK 2000 scenery for FSX (Part 2) for central England and Wales is well established on the approach now, with a release expect within 3-4 weeks.
This is a
'must have' add-on for FSX users, it transforms the UK into airfields that we can actually relate to, not 'psuedo' US midwest affairs that comes with FSX.
The great Gary Summons has put up screenshots of all 81 airfields in the Pt2 edition. I have a Horizon VFR disc set all ready and waiting, but now will need yet another new HD to fit it all on!
Here is a link to the UK2000 forum screenshot post.

Excellent! Will get my hands on this as soon as it's released.
One minor critcism though - I really wish he wouldn't add totally fictional static aircraft to some airfields. The Vulcan parked outside the hangar at Bruntingthorpe makes sense, but I can't recall ever seeing Concorde at Cosford, or the Blue Angels at Cottesmore! Will just have to install them without the statics, it seems.
Apart from that, though, they look very nice indeed.

I've looked at these sets before and decided not to get the first one... However, things may change with this second set given a favourable answer to the following question...
Can you select which airfields you wish to install or is it all or nothing? I've got some in the south I don't want changing (Brize / Fairford etc) and the UKMIL sceneries plus a few choice others and would probably not invest if I can't pick and choose the ones I want.
Any ideas?
TIA
DAve.

Hi DAve
If they're anything like the FS9 sets.. it's definitely all or nothing mate. However.. if you're deft with your mouse, it's not impossible to drag the airports you don't want out of the main scenery area and stow them elsewhere. TBH though.. I hardly see the point. The default airports are Kerrrap so why have em active.. even of you don't go there

You may find yourself poodling around on day with nothing to do and with only default airports.. there's no incentive to land!

In the FSX version you can select what airports you want, or do not want to install.

Sorry Rick, that is next year in Volume 3!
I am pretty sure Garry sticks to the
Horizon Generation X photo scenery (all his airfields have an option to 'blend in' with this software) borders. I have just looked at my box of Gen X vol 2 (not installed yet) and the northern border cuts offabout 15 miles south of the N. Wales coast.

Not installed yet???! :o Ever since I bought the complete GenXII set, FS9 sat unused on my PC and eventually it got removed... The only remnants are a selection of aircraft that
may port over to FSX when I have the time.

My dear old FS9 (all 90gig of it

) still gets an airing once a week, it is now silky smooth and I have aircraft that will never make it to FSX, other than compromised port-overs, which I am never happy with.
The Gen X stuff takes up 30 gig of space
per volume, so I intend to buy a dedicated new 200gig HD and install all the Horizon scenery onto it (this makes it work even better, according to the manual). Until UK2000 Vol 2 comes, I see no point in bothering with it, as I really hate default scenery in the UK. You can get away with it in the US...just! But I only fly in the UK, and at present, just south of the midlands!!
Because I cannot buy Gen X easily in Spain, I picked up a copy on my last trip to the UK, in anticipation of UK2000's release.
