Re-location

Hi guys,
I'm a newbie here, so forgive me if I'm in the wrong forum.
I have started on the Islander, because I want to fly the Scottish island routes before moving onto something bigger.
I did the type rating flights at Jersey, and now I want to move to Glasgow. Does this mean I have to buy a ticket to get there out of my very limited earnings so far ?
Or will the airline sponsor my transfer and re-location expenses ?
Cheers, Alan Ramsay

I'm sure this will be moved down to the VA forum in due time (down at the bottom), but as a Database Admin at FSAirlines and a user, the cost of a "ticket" to move from place to place is very reasonable, usually under 300v$. I know I've had tickets as little as 20v$ when transferring within the UK in the past (usually from LHR to London City or LGW).

Hi Alan,
Yep, we all pay for our tickets to transfer to whichever airport we want to get to. Buying a ticket is very inexpensive and is not a factor of great concern.
Regards
John
PS I'll move this down to the crew room.

Hi Alan
Just had a look at where the Doves are located and there is one at Jersey, these a/c do not have a home as such therefore if you are rated on Doves' then by flying it to Glasgow you can earn your fare instead of paying for it.
May seem a long way to fly but by making staged stops en-route you will earn more money and have a rest at the same time.
DM was the last pilot on this particular one way back in 2008 (I think) here is the serial number G-AMYO. Only if you are rated for this type though.
Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nigel,
The Dove is no longer a 'given' TR so needs training flights as per rest of fleet if a pilot wants it.

John

I bought my ticket to Glasgow, not too bad, just $101.
Now staging to Kirkwall to fly the island routes for a while.
