Classic British Flight Sim

Hello all.

I am having a problem I have not had before.

Just got a new PC. All good spec, Quad core etc great graphics card.
Anyway, While trying to install FSX, I get most of the way and then this message comes up.

"Error Number 0x80040702
Discription, failed to loadDLL:Gameuxinstall helper
Setup will now terminate"

It then does just that.

I have tried to remove all the loaded components and start again, but always the same result.
Can anybody please help me to sort this out with any ideas?

If i remember correctly you need DirectX 9C installed first.

Or you don't have the latest version of Net Framework 2.0 or similar

A sign that whoever built your PC was too lazy to let it update it's self on windows Update before they sold it to you.

Microsoft make the dumbest self installers for their own Operating System with their own Simulator :roll:

Nope, No good, the install wizzed through CD 1 and 2 and then I got the same message.

DirectX installed just fine,

but

The net framework would not operate on my 64 bit system it said.

Square one again!!!

You need the x64 version of .net Is it Vist x64 your running?

umm... stange one.. ah!!! This rings a bell! Was there not a problem early on and you needed a too to clean out the registry before reinstlling..... let me see if I can find something
