Hi Scorpius

Make sure your backdrop drawing is in 256 colours or less

FSDS of any number hates 16 & 24 bit bmp backdrop images for some reason.

Rick

Hi Rick,

Spot on mate, that was the problem!

The models I am making will be for FS9 and FSX.

Thanks again, and to Gary too.

Hi op2

If you're into Gmax the best thing you can do is stay with that.

Moved onto Gmax now having 'cut my teeth' on FSDS3.5.1, pity really as the model (Handley Page Hastings) I had made looked quite good but I realise Gmax is much better.

Hi,

You do realize you can use the CVA Converter to convert your FSDS project into a DXF file and import it into GMAX? You'll only end up with the untextured and unanimated mesh itself, but that could save you some time.

Hope this helps,

No I didn't! I do now though, thanks Tom, that will speed things up.
