HJG 3rd Anniversary Website Update !

Historic Jetliners Group (HJG) have pleasure announcing its 3rd anniversary website update ...featuring debut release of its secret aircraft project of the past several months, along with another flightline of classic/nostalgic B707, B720, & B727 liveries for FS2004 & FSX .

New B707-320C & B720-B textures include the late 1970's livery of an airline representing a Middle Eastern kingdom. New early production B727-100 textures feature both mid 1960's and 70's identities for a Caribbean based operator. And new late production B727-100 textures represent the late 1960's livery of a Colorado based US carrier ...4 variations of attractive and historic gold & black livery employed by a major Mexican airline during the 1960's 70's era ...And freighters featuring both a Latin American based aircraft in the colorful livery of a major international courier service, and another strikingly liveried aircraft operated by a lesser known African carrier both of more recent times.

But that's not the lot...

New HJG B727-200 ADVC textures feature the late 1980's livery of a Middle Eastern kingdom, and a rare military aircraft recently operated by the USAF-ANG ...And an early production B727-200 freighter conversion in the current identity of an Irish cargo specialist.

An upgraded/more authentic 1985 Piedmont Airways texture for B727-200 ADVC has also been released.

But ...wait for it... because HJG's great secret aircraft project of the past several months is now a secret no more...

HJG have pleasure announcing release of the first of its new DC9 flightline beautifully crafted by Nicholas BOTAMER ...featuring the DC9-50... accompanied by a selection of the most historic US operators of the type from the 1970's, 80's, & 90's period, including also the McDonnell-Douglas demonstrator livery of 1975, along with the 1980's identity of a major Scandinavian carrier. 2 P&W JT8D soundpacks have also been released for HJG's new DC9 family. For further information regarding this latest FS offering kindly refer to the "NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS" page of the HJG forum.

All this and more are now available for "FREE" download and your private FS enjoyment from the HJG website at following website address...

Thank you very much Mark (and the rest of the HJG crew) for new DC-9 and the wonderful new liveries. I can't wait for the release of the baby 9. :dancer: She looks like she's going to be a real winner, too.

I am ploughing through various 727 paints but plan to move on to the DC9 pretty soon, I hope to cover the European ones and look forward to doing the DC9-15 and 32 in BMA livery old and later colours :)

No problem Garry :) .... and I do hope you're progressing well. I'm on the move again in a couple of weeks .... going back home (my other home :bandit: ) for a wee while. I'll be in-touch before departure though.

I'm actually doing this at the moment .... and learning this panel as I go.

I got the principal panel files from Stellan HILMERBY's website .... then I upgraded these with 2 more recent improvement files available on FS.COM.

The result is .... "YES" :) .... the HILMERBY panel (actually for DC9-40) does merge OK with our new aircraft model, but, I'm still trying to assess what needs to be further modified for absolute compatibility.

Sometimes panels not actually designed/customized for use with certain models or FDE combinations end up not being completely compatible .... however .... what I've seen so far is more than encouraging.

As for the official future panel/s candidate for the new HJG DC9 flightline .... we'll see what develops as we go. Until then it's temporary default MSFS B737 panels .... however .... we do offer 2 reasonable new JT8D soundpaks for our DC9's :tunes: .... which are BETA versions only at this time, but, which otherwizze run very well with these aircraft

If downloading the basic HILMERBY panel .... then it's probably adviseable to consider the 2 (I think there's 2) upgrade files available at FS.COM as well. As I recall these fix 1 or 2 issues as well as improving the overall graphic appearance of some panel features too. These upgrade files are quite a complicated merge though for those not entirely comfortable amending CFG data themselves. I do have a recompiled file featuring all tghe necessary upgrades .... but .... I can't release it without authorization from Stelan HILMERBY of course. I'm not sure what his current status is either, but, I am endeavouring to find out.

IMHO .... this "IS" the best DC9 panel currently available, but, there are 1 or 2 items which do need minor modification work in order to be 100% compatible with our new model/FDE combination. I'd say this panel, complete with the 2 upgrades I mentioned above, is currently probably around 98% compatible with our new model/FDE combination. Unfortunately we (HJG) can't begin modifying it without aurhorization to do so.

This "IS" a complex panel though .... and some folk might not like it for that reason (personally I've no problems with it at all) .... but .... like all things that are technical, and good, I believe that's just a "learning curve". Once this panel mastered then I doubt many folk will look backwards. I also believe that anyone who's become familiar and competent with the payware "MAD DOG" panels (since FS98) should be more more than comfortable with the HILMERBY panel too .... because it seems (to me) the operation of both aren't too dissimilar.
