Another Auster coming

Dave Molyneaux just gave me this teaser for his next creation
still along way from release - He is planning on both versions of the Autocar (the Gypsy and Lycoming engined ones)
This is G-AOIY that he is producing with the help of Martin (T6Flyer) and its current owner.
It will have a full IFR panel copied from its full sized sister
OIY was originally a Gypsy engined version that was converted by Auster as a proof of modification type for
the Lycoming -- Another member here - (Kestrel19) has G-APUW which was the first J5V to come off the production
line with the modification learned from IY.
I have seen the panel for IY that Dave is building and its really a great piece of work. - it also includes some
late modification made by subsequent owners including Cessna style rudder pedals and toe brakes (Auster had
traditionally heel brakes).
Coming to the Pond soon.
Leif
I see that spring has sprung at Rearsby ;-)

Talking to Dave -- he is doing the Lycoming engined one (G-AOIY_ first as a favor to the owner and Martin who have provided quite literally hundreds of detail photos for him -- He says the Gypsy engined one will also be released at the
same time -- For a slightly obscure aircraft there seem to be ALOT of versions and add ons -- There is a really nice one
that apparently is on the fly-in circuit over there G-ARUG - that sports Terrier paints styles. As I said I think the panel for
the G-AOIY will knock peoples socks off as Dave is making his an exact replica. I got a sneaky look at the VC in and it
is really beautiful

Dave Molyneaux allowed as how I could put these teasers for the Autocar out.
Its now in the hands of Mr Horsey who is working his magic on the flight file.
And yes the final version will come in THREE engine flavors Lycoming, Gypsy and Cirrus Major.
I hope you will indulge me --- its a lot of fun to fly and the panel -is interesting - a full IFR set up for an Auster????
Holding short at the factory while G-AJEE lands
A little formation work
Room for four!
The custom panel -- VC style
Turning finals at Rearsby
Dave is about to give yet another piece of Classic British flying back to the community
who else would think of giving you the ability to fly an ILS approach at 55 mph??????
Thanks Dave for letting me play and thanks to Martin and G-AOIY's owner for giving Dave so much information
to make this "almost as real as it gets"
Thanks for looking
Leif

Please for give me for bumping this thread but DaveM(oly)'s Lycoming engined Auster J5V Autocar is in final beta testing
It will come with two seperate and entirely different (also both still flying in the real world)
You've already seen screenies of G-AOIY - T6Flyer and IY's owner helped Dave immensely
with info and photos
Now the other owner/pilot Eric (Kestrel19) has provided information and Photo's of G-APUW.
And interesting pair - 'IY started life as a J5B and was used by Auster as a proof of concept aircraft for the Lycoming Engined J5V - being stripped of its Gypsy at Rearsby and a Lycoming fitted.... It is extensivly modified and Dave's model reflects that with
the IFR panel - Cessna style rudder pedals with toes brakes
Where as G-APUW was the first "real" J5V to be rolled out of the shop at Rearsby.
Again dave has faithfully modeled this aircraft as it is today ...here's a sneaky peek at UW's panel and VC (The finished model will come with 3 totally seperate and different models). The final version being a Gypsy engined J5B so those who may wish to fly ttem with the RAN or RNZAF will be able to.
G-APUW's VC cockpit for your perusal.
Cheers
Leif
