Some DC-8 Action

I always enjoyed seeing these DC-8-63s. They seemed so impossibly long, I was fascinated by them. I never flew in one, though. I downloaded one from HJG today and spent a couple of very enjoyable hours doing circuits at Hong Kong. I was impressed to see that it creates smoke in reverse thrust. I'm not sure if I've noticed that on any of my other FS aircraft

Nice touch, though.

I need to turn off pretty quick - it's getting a bit busy!

Hi,
The -63 and -73 are the same length - they just have different engines.
I flew in the UAL -61's a few times (same length as the -63's) and when I sat in the very back, up the aisle I could watch the front of the looooong fuselage flex up and down as we flew through light turbulence. It was a very unsettling experience...

Hi Tom
I remember seeing a DC 8 60 series film years ago where they demonstrated the fuselage flex with a fixed camera looking down the isle.
in a 25 degree banked turn you could only see down about a third of the isle!
But i think there where no problems with that mark failure wise (i'm no expert)
Regards
Rick
