Couple of Iris Vulcan shots

Here's two of them sitting at Cambridge. Interior and in-flight shots to follow as soon as I've found the 'ON' switch and can power it up. Looks like there might be clues to this in something called 'manual'...can't say the term is a familiar one.

Paul, once you've got it started don't forget to turn on the powered flight controls, I didn't and found myself running off the end of the runway with no control over the damn thing! I can just about get airborne in 3 minutes now, just got to work on the height keeping....

Looks lovely. And I see it comes with fully inflated tyres unlike Just flights offering. :dunno:

Actually, Ive had a busy day, so haven't had time to play with it. Paul Frimston has very kindly sent me the printer-friendly check lists, weights and speeds that went into the manual, so I'm going to print them off and play further.

I see Iris have released a 'mode changer' to allow simpler operation, but I'd be missing a huge slice of what this model offers if I used that. I really want to learn this thing from the ground up, start and stop engines, familiarize myself with the avionics, maybe do fast taxi runs, all before I think of taking her up.

I have one or two little niggles, but they are born out of personal preferences rather than bugs or errors. I wonder if Iris would be amenable to my suggestions ? :think:

Anyway, I have a feeling the Iris Vulcan will be the 'tipping point' for many still debating whether to buy FSX. I don't want to reignite the controversy, but it really is good...very British and an absolute classic.

Paul, were always open to pointers, constructive critisism and realistic requests, we have already a SP1 topic for us team members to put in surgestions and things that need fixing. So go ahead and send us them!

Ill agree with the fact that this Vulcan will, hopefully tip the balance towards the :000: side...
