Not had a lot of time to look at this yet, because it happened late last night and I'm at work now.

Just taken an EZY A319 from EDI to AMS. Arrived on stand, fine, saved flight, fine, hit ESC for "End Flight" and FS disappeared i.e. didn't go to the "Create a Flight" screen, just went.

Tried to restart it and it gets through the splash screen, starts to build the "Create a Flight" screen and then crashes to desktop.

Anyone had any similar occurences? Obviously I'll be looking into it more when I get home from work this evening.

:fart: I wonder if that's what your problem was?

Joking aside, I'm sure someone will be able to offer a better explanation.

Ah yes. I do like my classics, but being current in the industry I like to use the new stuff too.

Not enough info to tell what the problem is.

Type of scenery? Default or 3.rd party?
Other applications running?
Equipment used? New drivers? New Updates? Have you flown the same before without problems? etc. etc.

First port of call is usually to try deleting your FSX.cfg/FS9.cfg file and letting the simulator re-build it. You will have to reset all of your graphics settings but it's cleared a few crashing problems for me.

Another thing always worth trying is deleting all of your saved flights in case one or more have become corrupted. If you don't want to demolish the whole house then just delete your default flight first.

The way it only gets to the create a flight screen before crashing is worrying and leads me down the following train of thought... Have you tried running any other games? If you don't have any other games installed then Star Menu\Run and type in dxdiag. Click on the "display" tab and run the Direct3D test. If it passes then it's just a simulator problem. If it doesn't then there's a deeper problem afoot somewhere.

AMS default scenery, nothing else running, everything up to date.

Went into AMS couple of days ago with G-ASIX and no problems. Not a twitch until now.
