BAC Strikemaster

Hi everybody,
I am new to this forum, as I just found the site.
Loads of great Classic aircraft, thank you all. (I have no idea how you do it, but please carry on)
My question is, I see a fantastic JP5 on here, but is there a BAC 167 Strikemaster model?
The Strikey, as I'm sure you know, is basically an uprated version of the JP5 with more thrust, 3410Lbs (535 viper as opposed to the 2500Lbs of the 202 viper however, this makes a huge difference in performance) and then hard points for stores and weapons.
I am sure you already know this and I apologise for ranting!
Anyway, just wanted to know if there was a Strikey version.
By the way, there is a reason for me asking, as there will be a 4-Ship Strikemaster team on the display circuit in the UK this upcoming season, which will be a first.
Thanks again
Yakhunter

Hi Yakhunter and welcome to the forum ;-)
Rick did do a Strikemaster version but held back as another was released by someone else. Not actually sure if he ever released it (though I'm certain I have a copy here somewhere). Maybe someone with a better memory than I can confirm if Ricks model was ever released

Ah.. OK Henk. I doubt he'd let it go now as however much folk may want one.. it lacks his recent advances. He might rebuild it one day as I know he wanted to do the JP5 too
Happy New Year to you btw ;-) Popped down to the Shack forum a few days ago and it was.. err.. quiet

Hi,
There is a Strikemaster repaint for Rick's JP5 - G-SOAF.zip, available from Flightsim and AVsim. Not sure what it's like though.

Rick did the Strikemaster around the same time as he did the JP5. He made the JP5 as a quick 'one off' to get his toes wet making jets (this was his first attempt). Taking this into consideration, the model was built with as few sides as he could get away with (enough to make it look curved from the right angles).. the consequences of which are he kicked himself for not making it 32sided in the first place (or however many numbers were the fashion at the time)
Point is.. he looks back at all of his old models.. most of em anyway and thinks they're woeful too.. regardless of the fact that we all love em to bits

Catch him on a good day and he might just let it go as is but it's not on his (known) list of priorities at present. Compared to releases like the 748/780 and the Hawk.. especially the Hawk.. the Strikemaster is from days gone by.. those that only Mr Ito still models in ;-) People expect the world of him now and I honestly don't think they'd expect a god knows how many years old model to be any less.
