Vanguard G-AZRE routing problems

I have just hopped over to Dinard in Vanguard AZRE and was expecting to have a hop back however that is not the main problem, the next leg of the route is to Istanbul but from there there appears to be no onward routing. I don't particularly want to fly out there and become stranded so am i just imagining things or is it a dead end route.

Hi Richard
No.. it's not a dead end route mate. This is leg 1 of a multi section route that
doesn't have an inbound the same as it's outbound. I've nearly taken this flight a couple of times but have been careful to ensure I had a way back first! Having almost hit the button twice.. I now remember I don't go there with out having a very long route home ;-)

Ok.. against my better judgement and due to it being the season of goodwill, I've given you a way out!
CBFFF9 LFRD-EGMH 1200-1315 x1/0 pax/Cargo restricted to 8000kg/x1 max/ticket value $84
A lot of time, effort and usually more than a smattering of money on research go into producing these routes. The particular book the original route came from cost me £29.95!! An object lesson.. don't book a flight ANYWHERE without first checking onward/return routing ;-)

Thanks Dave alhough that wasn't so much the problem if i was to fly on to istanbul, (bloody long way i know but i am tempted) where would i go from there? From looking at the route enquiry stats page I can't see any routes out of Istanbul. Is this just a hiccup with the system i.e. fsairlines not chatting to cbfs stats?
I normally would check out the complete route

but for some stupid reason neglected to do so this time, will make me double check in future.

Could always do the shorter flight to LEPA but then may have trouble getting back to Manston. I onlw wanted a short hop before possibly some longer flights but obviously picked the wrong short flight.
Oh and of couse I fully realise the amount of work yourself, John and the others put into the VA and would like to thank you all for the enjoyment and sense of purpose it adds to FS2004. I was not so much saying that the routing was incorrect but was a little suprised when down to my own stupidity i was faced with a really long flight. All my fault really.

Hi Richard
I'm up to my ears in christmas dinners at the mo (14 women who can't decide who ordered what and won't believe what they did order unless we show them their pre-order form!!!!) so am a bit frazzled :@ Basically mate.. John is the master of the database. We find the routes (as does he.. loads of em it has to be said) then we throw em at him to compile and upload. Every now and again, there's a cockup but considering our route structure.. his hit rate is pretty darned good

I'll follow that route through and see where the missing link is ;-)
BTW.. there's a Vanguard route from LHR I've fallen into at least 3 times which has no return to LHR. You have to go to EGCC then down to EGLL instead. I bite my lip.. swear a few times then head for Manchester at all speed

My landings are generally pretty rough on that leg

Thanks Dave, these things happen, I fell into a similar trap recently athough the flights were not long, a hop over to Shannon and had to come back via Dublin as well.

Right Mate..
I'm not sure what's happened with this particular route. The real one went EGMH-LFRD-LTBA-LCEN-LIBR-EGMH. For economic reasons to name but one.. I don't think we intended to route via LCEN as no other aircraft goes there. However, I'm pretty sure that LCNC was chosen as an alternative then most of our flights that were routed to Larnaca moved to LCNC too. The current state of the plan in FSA is exactly as you found it.. EGMH-LFRD-LTBA though searching on the database, I didn't actually see an arrival for it at LTBA :o The only other flight I can find on the full route is from LIBR to EGMH and this isn't specifically for AZRE though it is a Vanguard route.
John..
One for you to look at when you're able to get to a pc again mate ;-)

Ok then Dave thanks for that, will hop back to Manston when i have a chance then, after which the LFRD EGMH leg can be removed.

Hi Richard
Not that it makes any difference to the lack of routing on this particular flight but thinking about it.. LCEN was added into the original route as there was no LCNC on the FlyNET database at the time. We found a suitable Nicosia (freeware) for FS9 and Ben made one for FSX so Nicosia was added to the FlyNET database. Funny how these things come to you when you least expect them
