Bandit Enterprises have just finished work on this project and I've been taking some photos and flying some airtests:-

I have used Hakan's personal textures and as you can see Hakan, my face has recovered well from additional plastic surgery ;-)

Thanks for looking :flying:

Wow Peter, great shots and a wonderful aircraft to go with it!! :dancer:

Think you might just start something here in having yourself imposed into the hot seat!!

Can now see nearly everyone wanting their own faces transplanting into the figure in the left hand seat of all the aircraft they have!! :worried:

Regards
Nigel.

Nigel,

Hakan Ohlsson put me in there when he did that paint for me. However, he left my face very scarred and I had to have some plastic surgery to remove the scars and make me look right again

It is a bit of a game to put your face on the model...You have to stretch your face sideways to distort it by just the right amount so that it undistorts when wrapped onto the model...Anyway, I'm rather pleased with the result :dancer:

Well as soon as I get this project finished and uploaded I will look into it Nigel...I'll try sticking "Me" in the Chipmunk, Sycamore, Hunter and anything British that I can find with decent model pilot...If I get good at it I might well offer a free service here at CBFS :flying:

I'll certainly take you up on that offer Peter, though please, don't do it if the pilot is female!! :worried:

One quite nice feature of recent Dreamfleet productions is that you have a choice in the preflight config for a male OR female pilot...Another clever choice you have with this Piper Dakota is a choice of a two bladed or a three bladed propeller and this is Saved. I can not fathom out how this is done as there is just one model :dunno: ...There are both 2 blade and 3 blade paints in the texture set.

Peters Turbo Dreamfleet Dakota released...

I know there is not a lot of interest here but if you have the Dreamfleet Piper Dakota in FS9, then my Turbo version is released.

Jonesey, you might want to download again as the .air file, the Aircraft.cfg and the Manual have changed a bit...You could just install over the top, but conserver your Aircraft.cfg paragraph for that special livery of yours and the Pilot bitmap of you...Thank you very much for the beta-testing :)

With many thanks to Hakan Olsson for the livery.

Before unzipping the downloaded file to anywhere, please read the file in the WinZip window called INSTALLATION.txt

After installation please read the manual (in the Manual folder within the new aircraft folder).

You can download the file here:-

I uploaded a revised version today and also a small patch for those who have already downloaded...Here are the URLs for those:-

http://www.petermcleland.com/dl/TurboDr ... Dakota.zip

http://www.petermcleland.com/dl/PatchFo ... Dakota.zip

You DO NOT need the patch if you are downloading the whole thing...The patch is just to bring an existing installation up to date.

This patch for the TurboDreamfleetPiperDakota fixes some known problems with the 1280 and 1680 screen resolution versions. The patch will only add files to the Panel folder and you can just extract the file direct to your Flight Simulator 9 folder and allow ALL overwrites.

All resolutions will now correctly display all gauges and Forward Diagonal views in all resolutions will show live VC views instead of bitmaps...Be sure to visit the full VC just once before using these views or there will be some blank gauges :flying:

Grand Touring Model...

Bandit Enterprises are busy with the "top of the line" (most expensive) GT model of the Dreamfleet Turbo Dakota.

Here are a couple of progress shots of the panel:-

An additional 13.5 gallons of fuel have been squeezed into each wing in these touring models and the odd other mod have added a little weight.

The GT models will have to be individually ordered from B.E. and the prospective owners will have to own the required instruments. This top model is the Avidyne Glass Version.

Still a fair amount of work to do, but progress is good :flying:
