A Retro Base for 727s

I mentioned in another thread that I was looking for a suitable 727 airport to populate with 70s/80s retro traffic. I've decided on Bermuda as the airport has hardly changed in 30 years and 727s were the staple diet. The only non-US or Canadian operator was BA and we had a VC10 service from London, replaced by a Tristar when the VC10 retired. For a few years there was also a daily 747 from JFK. The main operators were American, Eastern and Delta.
I've found a very nice freeware Bermuda island and airport with lots of lovely AI ships for character. So now the long hard slog of downloading, installing and flightplanning. I've done a few 727 circuits and I think it will fit in very nicely with my other two retro bases
Anyway, here are a few early shots.

Lovely ship! You can just see the airport in the background with my 727 landing from the left.

Wow looks really good, Ian.
Any hint as to the filename for the freeware Bermuda Island scenery.
Cheers

Looks like it might be the freeflow scenery which is very good although i did have a slight problem with the ship AI causing a CTD. Some other interesting sceneries here although i have not tried them.

Yes, it's the Freeflow scenery which I got from Avsim (file name:
ffbmv1.3.zip ). It's for FS9. You also need Gerrish Grey's trees (
trees_v3.zip ). It says for FS2002 but ignore that, it's fine.
It's got a self-installer if you feel lazy and full manual instructions if you're a control freak

There are also plenty of options for switching on or off different effects for lower-end systems. Mine's an average system with all sliders to the right and I haven't needed to compromise on this scenery.
Optional add-ons: It comes with some AI ships but it's already set up to use some additional ones from this package so it's worth installing that as well - many of them are active with wakes and other nautical stuff  (
shiplib1.zip ). As there's plenty of water around, the authors give some recommendations for improved water effects. But the trees file is the only essential extra.
As to the CTD experienced by Richard, the very informative readme mentions two 'rare' CTDs caused by a couple of files and tells you which ones to delete. I haven't had any problems. Yet!

Blimey Ian.. I clicked on the last post and that second shot of your's was only filling half the screen (at the size I have my browser). It looked like a real shot until I scrolled down to see the AI on the ground. ;-)

That looks lovely...I think I'll install that and send my 727s there. I'll need to work out a route for them :flying:

Brilliant! I've been looking for a decent 'isolated island' freeware...!
