Control surface deflection angles real acft

Can any forum member, who is/has been an aeronautical engineer or designer or perhaps an airframe rigger, please tell me what the normal deflection angles are in the real world for elevators, ailerons and rudders?

Assume neutral to be 0*.

They vary from aircraft to aircraft

The two I have dealt with are

Elevator for the Britannia is 20 up 15 down and the Freighter 27 up 17.5 down

Ailerons Brit 21 up 15 down Freighter 19 up 14 down

Rudder Brit 16 Freighter 28.5

Perhaps if you give a specific type we can come up with the figures

And for something smaller like the Yak-52.................

Elevator Deflection +- 25
Trim Tab Deflection +- 12

Aileron Deflection 22 Up, 16 Down

Rudder Deflection +- 27

Thanks for the information so far.

Sorry to say "Acft type = state secret." My Pa would have said "Keep it dark, it's a black pudding." = quite mystifying to me when I was five with everything still on wartime rationing.

Elevator Up 11.7" +/- .25" - 27deg +/- 1deg
Elevator Dn 6.1" +/- .25" - 14deg +/-1deg
Elevator Trim Tab.. UP 1.4" +/- .02" - 13deg +/- 30'
Elevator Trim Tab.. Dn 2.1" +/- .03" - 20deg +/- 30'

Elevators and trim tab, movement measured from neutral position at inboard end..
Srs 1, 2 and Devon
Rudder.. 15.1" +/- .25" Each Way 25deg +/- 1deg
Rudder trim tab.. 1.25" +/- .05" Each Way 18deg +/- 45'
Servo.. 0.4" nax
Srs 5, 6 and Sea Devon
Rudder.. 16" +/- .25" Each Way 25deg +/- 1deg
Rudder Trim Tab.. 1.9" +/- .05" Each Way 18deg +/-45'
Servo.. 0.6" max
Flaps Down 19.87" +/- .27" - 60deg +/- 1deg
Take off.. 6.9" +/- .35" - 20deg +/- 1deg

It varies based on the need. I would say that "normal" would be +20 & -10, however a lot rides on what kind of airfoil it's attached to and the size of the surface.

I examined many of my flyable FS9 aircraft and was quite surprised to see how the deflection angles varied between each model. I also wonder how the people who designed these Fs9 aircraft arrived at such figures.

Yes, I try to get those figures too but it is difficult to get hold of te relevant copies of Jane's AWA. I wish I was a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society for there is a splendid library at their premises, unfortunately I do not have access to it. One very good aeronautical library I do have access to has had a number of books 'taken on extended loan' - it is not a lending library! Some members must be trying tyo recapture their youth or something!
