Jeddah - The notorious Rest House
Cairo The Mena House - Great view from the roof and the stables next door
Lusaka - The Chrismar (fleapit) but trying to remember the beer White Castle?? was cheap
Ndola -- The Mukuba
Port St Louis Mauritius -- Le Cocatiers (complete with giant tortoises) It was used by Air Rhodesia and SAA crews as well
Mehrabad (In the old days) The Mehrabad Sheraton
East London - I think it was a place called Thornycrofts???
