I also got caught up in that thunderstorm earlier, Peter! ATC told me the airport was closed for VFR but I ignored them and made a
very interesting landing using only the left main gear of the Trident
By the way, I've now completed my transfer of passenger traffic back to CLK, leaving the Cargo at Kai Tak. I'm now adding a selection of 70s/80s/90s jets and some RAF aircraft to make what I hope will be an interesting mix. It'll take a while to get a good selection and to get the balance right. At the moment I think I may have overdone the amount of VC10s - if that's possible

This is just a taster, but it'll take a week or two to get it right - and then I might scrap the idea anyway
So: presenting the
Sir Speedbird591 Memorial AI Aviation Museum (Curator: AI Archie; all donations of suitable AI aircraft gratefully received)

Hmmm. The WoAI stuff looks so much better than my older jets. Perhaps I'll just forget that idea and move a third of it back like you've done
I notice that you haven't been keeping up with your housekeeping! I see an Oasis 747 and the BA aircraft are still sporting the World tails! I did like those, but I also accept that the Chatham Dockyard was the best of them! During my move, I updated the BA package and deleted Oasis - that's why I noticed.
Have you been flying any airliners into Kai Tak or are you letting the AI boys do all the sweating?

No Ian,
As you can see from the full sequence of my "Monsoon" post, I'm still using the much handier for sightseeing "Little Bandit". I was rather hoping that Aerosoft would add their AES to Kai Tak and I've been waiting to fly Trident 3 and B744 in when they have that facility. Meanwhile the AI are doing an admirable job. I have noticed a memory leak while using this scenery and will spend some time looking for the culprit...Possibly a Landclass empty texture folder :flying:

Oh well, I took advantage of not going to RIAT by doing some more work on the Kai Tak AI. I've sent the last of the cargo a/c back to CLK so all the World of AI traffic is now out of Kai Tak. I've started to install some older jetliners of the 70s and 80s. I've located enough to keep me busy for a few weeks and so far have about 25 flying some simple flight plans that I've written for them. But as most of them are away at any given time the apron still looks a bit bare, so there's a lot of work to do before it starts to look decent. Meanwhile, I've based a Hunter at Kai Tak so I can quickly hop over to Chek Lap Kok for some spotting :
Anyway, I thought this was a nice shot as I taxied in tonight.

In one of my books on the Sea Vixen (I have many) there's a shot of 893 set up for a run and break at Kai Tak. I'm still trying to figure out which runway they're using to do it, but it's all the excuse I need to fly Vixens out of there!
Glad someone's managed to salvage something from the RIAT weekend, annoyingly it's been alright here today, but the car parks resemble the Somme so I can why it's been cancelled, apparently it was down to the insurers saying 'If it happens you're not covered' because of the chance of someone injuring themselves in the car park/crashing into someone else being so high. If you ask me if you can drive a car you should be trusted not to fall over....

That's all you need Skippy. Photographic evidence that she was there and there's nothing to stop you re-creating the event as often as you like!
I've decided on an easy way to populate Kai Tak with enough Classics to make it look busy while I'm building up the traffic. I've made up a simple "static" flightplan to which I've allocated one of each a/c type that I've got so far. So the airport looks a bit busier while the working stuff is off somewhere else. I can see this turning into a long-term project
