I had been suffering from AA problems and getting the "Jaggies"in my screenshots - Anyway FireFox just did an upgrade and on downloading and running it - My graphics appear to have improved 200% without me touching anything - Jaggies have gone
anyone tell me why?

Leif :dunno:

Presumably an update which included enhanced AA - it is known that FF has some AA issues....

Why would FireFox interfere with graphics?????..Not saying it hasn't just wondering why it has a hold on anything like that.

I am well aware with Leif's problem and his attempts to rid it before

Perhaps then this is why, as something that should never have been fiddling with it was.

Glad to here it's gone though Leif as they were not only zagged but rather hard edged as well so hopefully that's smoothed.

Would be nice to know exactly

I read an article somewhere or other comparing IE and Firefox - and one of the items mentioned was poor quality display of cleartype in FF - related to AA.

Having said that, of course Firefox should have *no* effect on viewing a screenie through a viewer - the effect would only be apparent when using the browser itself...... :doho:

What do you use for Capture and viewing Leif?

Note to self: engage brain *then* type.......

Garry

Remember the quality of the Gemini and Hucknall screen shots at the Pond?

This is what I am seeing now
Except for the apron all the Jaggies on the models have gone
Im using Snapper but As Garry says I have had probems for ages in FS as well
we have tried all sorts of things - I really noticed it last night working on a piece of scenery

What size is the file that is displeyed on the Pond? It looks (to me) like the web resizing is causing the jaggies. I would expect less than that in a screenie with no AA in FS TBH

Well, Snapper takes crystal clear shots and as far as I can see is transparent at 100% quality. If the Jaggies are present in Flight simulator itself, then it will of course capture them. I personally resize my shots (taken in FSscreen) with Irfanview before uploading. Saving at top quality in FsScreen (or snapper) allows a crop if so desired while maintaining decent resolution to resize for display purposes.

This is only valid if, of course, the original shots are smooth.

Another suggestion is to roll back Firefox and/or uninstall it and see what happens. Then re-install and have a look. If there is an issue it should be immediately apparent.

But, if it's working OK now, then just leave it

taint broke, aint screwing with it ;)

Yes Garry it really does look totally different - Stace looked at the sim last night as I was running back up Paliolo Channel to Maui at sunset with AS6 running - her comment was that it captured the islands exactly

Which is high praise from a local girl
