I know FSX and FSNAV do not work so is there anything else out there??
I am reasonably happy with FSX performance wise its good, VFR scenery loaded and looks great cant get the autogen to work with Horizon like Rick's video though
Lack of saving previous flight as in FS9 and no FSNAV annoying though... so its confined to be aVFR UK sim in cessna etc... but missing FSNAV..anyone have an answer??

Hello Mate..
FlightCommander v8 works with FSX (I think I mentioned this before) and on your second monitor if in windowed mode. It's a bit like having your teeth pulled but works and is better than nowt. Not a patch on FSNav though :-( I think you can grab it in shareware mode.. perhaps from the usual sites. The one thing I didn't like is that it started hoofing system files around. Nothing ever broke but I didn't like it digging as deep as it did

thanks for this one guys!!!
Im now a happy bunny with FS commander on an XP Pro compaq networked using WideClient to FSX on this PC... I didnt like using it with FSX windowed and running on my secondary screen (which is on the compaq atm)...
If you can afford to buy FSUIPC, Wideclient and FS Commander i would surgest you do... Its deffinatly a good product with all the maps, info etc! Shame i had a slight database making problem which was solved my copying the one i created on this PC over to the compaq version

Glad you like it Chris ;-)
WideClient seems to have come into it's own again with the advent of FSX and of course, the beauty is you don't need FS on the other pc. Is it giving any impact on frames at all and do you know if it will run on an unregistered copy of WideClient?? I bought the FS9 version though never used the payware version  Not bothered with the FSX ver yet

Hi Dave,
I quite like it, as im a fast n low kinda guy, and i like having a map on a secondary screen which really shows everything(not terrain) that i need... Ive yet to try out the rest of the features but i only brought it at 6:30pm...
With regards to the WideFS (FSX for deffinat) being unregistered it wont work... It has to be a registered version for the client to work... Hope that explains it for you...

Hi Chris..
Yup.. that'll do it ;-)
It's
so similar to what FSNav does in FS9 yet
so different in operation.. it really is a difficult program to comment on. For sure.. we'd never have completed (or even contemplated) the CBFS Dams Raid FSX MP flight we did last year without it. Basically.. I had it installed on my system.. FSX in windowed mode and FSC8 on the second monitor with the route entered and the guys spent hours following me while I followed the route :o It was almost a case of learning how it worked on the run which didn't help much

FSX native MP voice was used throughout so I was able to advise verbally.. turns and headings which believe me is a darned sight better than having to type in a window! ;-) I never got to see them on the FSC screen which would have helped so had to pop outside to check for stragglers while trying to maintain a level of below 200ft AGL but I digress. I'm not sure if FSC is capable of seeing MP aircraft and while FSNav is supposed to be able to.. I've yet to see one so no black mark against FSC for that ;-)
If you stumble over any probs or things you don't like.. please add them to this thread as either current or prospective FSC users will find your comments useful ;-)
