Ultra rare Convair 990 footage

Hi all,

Just stumbled across this very nice footage of one of the last surviving Convair 990's to fly. Namely, EC-BZO of Spantax. Appparantly this footage was recorded at Exeter shortly before she was retired and must certainly be one of the very last times a 990 visited the UK.

If your a fan of the type like me, then you'll realise footage of this aircraft in action is extremely rare. So naturally I'm quite excited! :dancer:

I actually saw this particular aircraft two weeks ago sitting helplessly as the end of the runway at Palma de Mallorca Airport basking in the sun as she enjoys her retirement (in one piece thankfully!)

To the contributer - Richard Watts, whoever you are, THANK YOU! :welldone:

Enjoy

OFFTOPIC

You must have been going out as we came in! I had an aisle seat so couldn't see the Cv990 this time. And when we left it was raining so visibility out was poor.

EDIT:
And I think I have posted this before, but a bit more characteristic smoke!

I would say that the YouTube's, although very nice, are somewhat of recent days?? :dunno: Hence the lack of the very characteristic smoking, as they may have rebuilt the engines to live up to today's standards, (or close, anyway)
