Hi Chris..
As we used to say in the RN.. that's life in a blue suit. If you couldn't take a joke, you shouldn't have joined up. Pongo's, Crabs and matelots alike will drip and moan at the drop of a hat and their wives are no exception
Bit of a duff comment from the BBC to say that 'the BBC has learned e t c'. All they had to do was ask ;-)

If you click on the TriStar link you can see they are not very popular with the Army!

The MOD always takes these things seriously but do the people that work for it? It's a bit like the trains... if it arrives within 10mins of published time then it is not late; I suppose to arrive within 6 hours is also not (very) late but how many of these "within 6 hours" are 5 hours and 50 odd minutes? More money needed (heresy here) perhaps scrap the carriers and invest more in transport and basic structures like accommodation for a change.
Just had a thought... better yet do a Gordon Brown and hire any available charter from Southend or whereever... may even be proper trolly dollies on board!
Cheers,
Chris

Scrap the Carriers :o Drag that man to the poop and break out the cat
I don't think scrapping the carriers just so that Joe Pongo can get home without having to suffer a 6hr delay is an option. Scrap MP's allowances instead ;-)

Put it this way if the carriers got scrapped MoD wouldn't get the money to spend on anything else, it'd more likely go on the Olympics.

Ah yes Skip.. another white elephant beckons with an even greater capacity for devouring money than the infamous Millennium Dome

Yeah, I was quite impressed when I found out they managed to get the price of the swimming pool out by a factor of 3. I mean who are they getting to do the maths, even my finances aren't that bad!

If those carriers get scrapped I'm a Dutchman, the senior service will hold onto those like a woman to a new pair of shoes! And IMHO rightly so.
Right I'm off for some scran.
Kind regards as always
