Kevin has kindly told us that nVidia has release new drivers.

Microsoft has also released XP SP3 now, available from the Microsoft Update. http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ -

And speaking of nVidia, some may be interested in the newest version of nHancer ... version 2.4.1 http://www.nhancer.com

Thanks for the HU Dan

On an aside.I have Enhancer and despite making adjustment I could make before I see little difference :dunno:

Some say to un-install it........do you recommend it?

I wouldn't leave home without it!

It does wonders for my FSX installation, and increases FPS on FS9 as well. And that is just using the predefined settings for these two programs.

I really think it is the price worth!

I would consider removing it just as much as I would consider flying without real weather...

Uninstall of the old one will be done more or less automatically, even if the older version is running while updating...

Cheers Dan

Perhaps when I manage to change my graphics card I will see the benefits.

At the moment I have one that's failing.have a spare but not installed yet :'(

Many thanks, Dan.

I've only recently discovered nHancer, following a previous post on this board.
I have now been able to remove the 'Shimmering' effect that has plagued my FS9 for as long as I can remember.
The online help is excellent, giving screen shot examples for the different settings - much better explained than nVidea's one or two lines of help.
Highly recommended :) :) :)

I also recently installed XP SP3. No problems so far.

Regards

Kevin

Yes, thank you indeed, Dan!

I missed the previous post and I had never heard of nHancer until now. I've just installed it and let it use the profile for FS9 and there is a definite improvement in the sharpness and clarity and also the FPS. And I was very happy with it before! So far I've only tried it on the Ready For Pushback 747 Classic and I was getting frame rates of 60-70 on the 2D panel and 40-50 external with around 35FPS external view landing at Bristol. The default Bristol scenery isn't very demanding but it's still a very good result for my laptop.

So in case anybody is wondering if it works OK with Vista SP1 - it certainly does!

No actually you can just install it and let it be, that's the way I use it.

But if you like tweaking every small knob you have the possibility to do so.

But, you have to have nVidia, it doesn't work for ATI ... there are other tools for them.

But nHancer for nVidia is, dare I say, a must-have.

You must have hit the wrong button then ;-)

Smooth install here and a bout 66. mb install ... takes a while, and no significant difference. I haven't read the "what SP3 contains" though.
