Virus.....Help!!

Minding my own business just surfing on some aviation sites when I got a message from AVG of a virus.
Did full scan and this came up...........JS Downloader Agent.
Tried to clean it via AVG but could not so moved it to the Virus Vault.
How do I get rid of it and is there any chance it will do some malice?
There is an Icon in the Virus Vault to
wipe object do I do this?
Sorry for sounding a bit thick but just need some friendly guidance.
It was located in C:\Documents & Settings\Admin\Local Settings\Temp, looking in the folder there are a large number of files etc. Should I delete all of them as it appears to be just a Temp Folder?
Does anyone know what this Virus is?
Many thanks in advance.
Nigel.

Hi Nigel..
It's a 'current' script downloader that will try, if successfull, to fill your HD full of poop!! I gather they are hosted by hacked or poorly scripted webpages. Bin it if you can and if not.. don't go back to where you've just been ;-) As AVG has isolated it.. you should be ok.

Thanks Dave, I decided in the end to wipe it and also deleted all in the Temp Folder in Local Settings just to be on the safe side as that was where it had made its' home.
Did a full search for it on the computer to make sure it was well and truly gone and then another full anti-virus check. All clear!!
Many thanks again.
Regards Nigel.

I agree with Tony. CCleaner is excellent at removing tracker cookies etc and is also a good registry cleaner.
You can save desired cookies e.g. CBFS which should save you having to log in each time.
It can also control which programs are in your start-up menu, giving a much faster Windows start.
Looks like you are using AVG 7.5. There is a new free version (AVG 8.0) and 7.5 will not be supported after the end of May. The pop up from AVG will try and direct you to the payware version, but if you look to the bottom of the pop up, you will see a small clickable text line saying something like 'View all AVG products'. Clicking on this, will take you to the AVG 8.0 FREE download.
AVG 8.0 Free seems to be significantly improved over 7.5 (not that I was unhappy with that).
Hope this is of help, Nigel.
Regards
Kevin

Hi kevin,
Many thanks for the information and advice, did download vcleaner from Grisoft (AVG) and ran that in safe mode. Did not locate it so I must have got rid of it safely.
The free version of AVG 8.0, do I have to uninstall the present version first? Again, very many thanks for the above info.
Also many thanks to all who passed on their advices, very much appreciated.
Regards Nigel.

Hi Nigel
I uninstalled AVG 7.5 (firstly closing any internet connections), then deleted the Grisoft folder in 'Program Files' on the C Drive.
I then ran a registry clean, using CCleaner.
Following this, I installed AVG 8.0, re-connected to the net and downloaded the latest updates.
You can get CCleaner from
http://www.ccleaner.com/
Hope this helps
Kevin
