hi gents

my system at the minute is a

Intel (R) core(TM) 2 CPU
6400 @ 2.13ghz
2.13Ghz, 2GB RAM

and it has a

NIVIDIA GEforce 7500LE graphics card in it.
its not the best, but on full tilt and scenery addons etc i get about 20fps,
apart from buying a new system, can anyone recomend a graphics card that will help me on the frs, i want to start using fsx more as well!!

cheers

Neil

8800GT. Best bang for your buck card on the market at the moment.

Search for the comments on the new 9600GT vs the 8800GT.

Seems like at high resolutions (1600 x ???) the 8800GT is the choice. But at resolutions up to 1280 x 1024, the 9600GT can almost match the 8800GT.

Probably depends on how much you want to pay and whether you are an ATI or Nvidia man. I know what I would buy.

Hi...

Maybe a little late but just for the info...

Got me a new PC some weeks ago with a PCI-E nVidia Geforce 800GT Super+ card, has 1024 MB DDR3 memory on it and was about 200 pounds.
With FS9 up to 100 fps and with FSX up to 60 fps, but never below 20.
All sliders almost to max.
So if you can get such a 8800GT Super+ card, do it!
Must say that I also have a core-2 Quad Q6600 processor and 2 Gb of DDR3 RAM on a Asus Maximus Extreme MB. That helps too with the framerates.
All runs on a Win XP Pro SP2 system, no Vista for me (yet).

Grtz.

Whatever you end up choosing, make sure your power supply is up to the job. If it isn't, the PC will crash.

Also be aware that ATI driver support is superior to that of Nvidia at present.
