Hi Folks

Toby -
Good addition.

Was Hatfield Aerodrome the same location as RAF Hatfield ?
If so, please link your page to List of RAF stations

Might be worth adding an Infobox Airport , (if applicable to closed airports).

I've raised a query in Discussion for List of airports in the United Kingdom
as that page allocates EGTH to Old Warden.

HI Toby

Just one small thing

Instead of just naming the Dragon etc and the Vampire and Comet it might be better to say what they are like Comet jet airliner.....

I know it's obvious but the idea of a reference is for those who don't know rather than those who do.

Nice write up on the whole :)

Paul,

The RAF maybe operated from there on and off in a training capacity or otherwise used the airfield periodically during the war although I have never heard the place referred to as RAF Hatfield. I'd guess that its probably one in the same although a quick google returns an "RAF Hatfield Woodhouse" later known as RAF Lindholme. There are one of two other Hatfields in the UK so again there might have been an airfield at one of those. Not sure!

Re the ICAO, yes Hatfield's has been reassigned to Old Warden. And somewhere else has pinched the ILS identifier!

Garry, I think I have set up those names as links so they should take you through to the corresponding articles on those aircraft, although I guess it can be ambiguous with reused names like the Comet!

Hi Folks

Toby -
Cheers for the reassignation info.

Multiple Hatfields -
I was referring to the RAF Hatfield listed under Hertfordshire.

From a post on PPRuNE -
Had a look-see in my book of Military airfields, <snip>
Hatfield was built in 1930 and is listed as an Elementary Flying Training School
EGTH reassignment after 2003, before May 2006.

Frightening to see how many GA sites still ref EGTH as Hatfield,
or say that Old Warden is located at Hatfield.

Even IVAO still has EGTH as Hatfield.

Many thanks
