low level RAF Typhoon

I wonder why 4 Typhoons were flying slowly in formation around here (adjacent to RAF Newton) at 1930 tonight?
Flying top cover for the Lincs/Notts Air Ambulance?
Not exactly an active airfield and even when it was it was Bulldogs and Alsatians (Scottish Aviation and German Shepherds).
