Vickers V.1000

There is a feature about the V.1000 / VC7 in this months 'Aeroplane.' (For those that don't know, basically a VC10 predecessor, the only example of which, was never completed.
A nice looker, with nicely shaped wings obviously inherited from the Valiant. Great shame it was cancelled - could have been a world beater. :roll:

It certainly was quite a machine
If it had been built there would probably never had been a VC10 as we know it and the RAF Comets and Britannia would not have happened and perhaps the Comeet 4 would have been stopped in it's tracks :think:

Yep Chris, was leafing through Aeroplane Monthly ( I still call it that ) in Borders today. Great mag that is.

Ooo.. must get a copy ;-)
Keep a lookout for FlyPast too as we had an 'official' party from said mag at the museum a few weeks ago. No interviews or shots of me I'm afraid.. I exited stage left to fill the mole holes outside

That said.. they might have been from Aeroplane.. so few weeks, so little memory :think:

I got my copy today.....nice FREE cover mounted DVD on the Vulcan too.....
