I had something similar happen to me when a bottle of cola erupted like Vesuvius when I undid the cap and it went all over the joystick of my X52 HOTAS. Thankfully it didn't cause any electrical problems and even though I had mopped it up within seconds some found it's way into the workings of the toggle switches on the front. A couple of days later I discovered that the switches would go down but would not return to the mid position without additional effort from me. :doho:

I stripped it all down and discovered that a couple of drops of cola had found their way into the mechanical part of the switch lever, however, the water had evaporated from the cola leaving a thick and very sticky syrup that was acting like a glue! A quick wash with Isopropyl alcohol got it working again but I am very careful where I open cola bottles now!

About a year ago I did my keyboard with an entire mug of coffee.... mopped it up straight away but days later the buttons stuck......most of them :doho:

So I took it apart...washed it and left it drying for several days ...........nothing to lose


Still working fine even now

There must be some truth in the many items about putting keyboards in dishwashers, precautions include ensuring the water temp is lower and/or having another keyboard. Paraphrasing Garry , nothing to lose except a blocked dishwasher.
