Vanguard fuel problems

I apologise if this hs been raised before but i couldn't find it anywhere. With the new version of the vanguard i am having a problem with the refuel procedure (standard). Once i have started the flight with the client the fuel in the outer tanks disappears, the fuel gauges for the outer tanks initially show fuel loaded but quickly drop down to zero. I guess a solution would be to use the compare method although i havewn't used it before. Has anybody else had this problem or no of a fix?

Hi Richard,
You can use compare OR on the fuel panel you can :-
Open inter engine 1 & 2 valve, turn off engine 1 booster pumps
Open inter engine 3 & 4 valve, turn off engine 4 booster pumps
Using compare is OK as long as you make sure you have at least the amount of fuel on your aircraft in the sim, as there is on the aircraft in FlyNET or you'll 'dump' fuel that's already been bought. It's unlikely that your required amount would be less than what's already on the aircraft so compare should be OK if you want to use it. I tend to use the inter-engine valves/booster pumps.

Thanks John, Used your method and everything worked fine. I assume on a longer flight the client will put fuel in the other tanks?

Hi Richard,
Yup.. there was a post about this recently. Do as John has suggested
before you take fuel off the client and all will be well

Most of us use 'Standard' as the normal refuelling method.
Consider that the inner tanks (2 and 3) carry 6874kg of fuel each.. you are going to have to travel a hell of a long way before the outers (1 and 4) are touched. Take a look on the 'Route Enquiry' link on the Stats, Stats, Stats thread in the Crew Room and you'll have to look very hard to find a route that requires in excess of 13748kg so get into the habit of opening the inter-engine cocks and closing the boosters (for 1 and 4) ;-)
