Since installing recorder I just can't get enough of it and find that one of the best aircraft to fly in formation is Ricks' Chipmunk. So easy and forgiving, it has to be though, with me behind the controls.

Thanks Tony, have no idea why they should be there unless of course there are some sloppy ground crews about!!

Lovely pics indeed, Nigel - nice paintwork on those Chippies too. Where you flying by the way? I know what you mean Recorder though, it's so easy yet so satisfying.

Excellent pictures, and a nice colourful formation too; what a great model Rick's Chipmunk is. I really must get to grips with FS Recorder, and have a go at some formation flying myself.

Many thanks for your kind comments. Steve, I was flying near Hong Kong with the Kai Tak scenery.

Paul, you must try it not difficult at all, even I have got the hang of it now. Would honestly suggest using Ricks' Chipmunk for learning the art of formation flying as it is such an easy aircraft to fly.

One tip is to maintain the same engine settings, for climb-out and level flight I set the throttle at 2,000RPM with the lead aircraft and when turning left and you are flying to the right of the leader then a slight increase in throttle may be required to maintain position. Though I have to say that the best person to ask about this is Peter as he flew in formation with real ones!!

Just tried my first aerobatic flight flying two Chipmunks in loose formation, just did two loops only to find that on recovery I got slightly behind on the first attempt and the second lost sight of my leader!! Did not know he was below me so called off the exercise. Any advice greatly received.

Thanks Garry, again it was flying with the 9Dragons scenery, find it best flying formation over there as not frame rate heavy.
