Classic British Flight Sim

Hi Guys,

I've just updated all the Viscount flightplans. All the old routes are still there but you will find a lot of new ones including some feeder services between the Canary Islands for which we have another 800srs aircraft on order.

Now we have Invicta Vanguard's going down there, the new Viscount will open the islands up as much as we can. Can't see it being 'over used' hence only one aircraft on order.. and that particular one is (by some coincidence) one that we don't currently operate ;-)

Be nice to see a few Middle Eastern Viscount routes opened up (though having made that statement.. I'd better go and check they're not already there)

No.. by Middle East routes.. I was thinking of BEA flights around that neck of the woods, not us flying foreign registered aircraft there. I've not looked at the Viscount much for that area and with Nicosia coming up, wondered what BEA did East and South of there. It's nice to use Frasers off station Viscount down at Gib and thought it might be nice to have one living at Nicosia if routing justifies one being there.. along with my Viking

I thought you had lost it for a moment there Dave ........BEA.that's a relief . Their first Viscout route was to Nicosia.

LHR-Rome by BEA and then operated by Cyprus on the Nicosia leg.

The operation that end was usually Cyprus Airways not BEA even though it was a BEA aircraft. Cyprus ordered 2 V.700 but they were not delivered. Cyprus then used leased UK Viscounts..BEA in the sixties in their livery also titled Alidair and BMA aircraft later. Paints are availiable for some of these.

Even though Cyprus Airways was a seperate airline in the early days it was controlled by BEA, so the early operation at least...........which falls into the timescale might be worth consideration :think:

BEA operations out that far from London are likely to be 700's.

There was of couse BEA Malta with Visounts, Comets and a Trident, that seems to have been run by BEA for Malta.

I have no idea where they operated them to but surely they must have gone all directions...a little more central of sourse .....but down that way. .........and with Gib that covers the med nicely
