Key-codes for software

Oh dear. Last year I downloaded Ground Environment and very happy with it.

Since going onto XP Home I have now tried to install it and comes up with the message:

The license for this installation is invalid! Please reinstall this product from the downloaded EXE file (using your keyfile).

OK.....so went to my keyfile, opened it and low and behold it was not readable!! :o Just a load of scrambled codes!! Is there a way to unscramble the code to access the keycode?

Have e-mailed Flight1 Software for help but not yet had a reply.

I think the installer has noticed that the OS (XP) is not the same as before and this could be the reason for this failure to install. Is there a way round this problem or do I have to wait and see if the company can help?

Thanking you in advance.

Nigel.

Are you sure you have to open it?

It may be a binary file that the Ground Environment install program recognises and you just have to browse to it when asked for?

Hi Dan

Had saved the downloaded programme to CD, when I went to install it did that OK and created all the folders but when it came to actually installing the programme to FS it came up with the message that I posted.

Excuse my ignorance not sure what the binary file is. :dunno:

All I know is that when I went to look at the keycode as proof of purchase it just came up with small blocks of squares instead of writing.

Nigel.

Hi Nigel, You don't open the keycode file, you put it in a folder that the installer reads. ;-)

Hi Ben Have done that already but it does not work!! :dunno:

Before I changed my XP the code was readable in notepad i.e. as you are reading this but now it only shows up in some form of computer code. Is there a way to decipher it?

Nigel.

Nigel, reinstalling a Flight1 product is really straightforward. Download the latest installer from the Flight1 site, then run the installer; on the bottom right hand side of the installer you will see an option for reinstallation, click there and then follow the prompts - basically it will ask you to browse to your keyfile and will then ask you for the order ref/password supplied at the time (if you don't have that you can get it, automatically, from the Flight1 support section).

Good luck.

Andy
